[ Clark stares at him. ]

Do you... want me to say they're from me?

Sure, you could try, but I don't think she'd believe you were giving her a gun. You can tell her they're from James.

[Yes, his real name, what of it?]

[signifies]

She wouldn't. [ Clark is an open book to Ellie. He frowns, because if Ellie knows his real name, Clark doesn't see why Bucky needs a middleman. ] Sure, I'll get them to her.

[advanced]

Thanks.

[He can see the question on Clark's face, even if he doesn't ask.]

She has a housemate, I don't want to go to her apartment.

[signifies]

Okay. [ Clark knows he's one of Taako's exceptions. He doesn't press the issue. ] I'll do it.

[advanced]

[His lips quirk up slightly.]

You don't have to hang around if you have things to do.

[He's not saying that Clark isn't welcome to, Bucky's planning on going to do some training and he doesn't mind company, but he doesn't need Clark there out of politeness if the man has places to be and people to see.]

[signifies]

I'd like to spend time with you when it doesn't involve this.

[ What he means is he'd like to do something normal. Relative to both of them.

Like how friends do. ]

[advanced]

[He nods, thinking for a moment.]

I'm going training now, or I'm going to try and learn how to bake a pie soon. Your choice.

[signifies]

[ Clark nods as he thinks. ]

I've been trying to improve my hand-to-hand. Maybe I can learn something from you.

[advanced]

You mean for those fights when you're not invulnerable?

[He smiles slightly as he turns to keep walking, leading Clark towards the wooded area outside the main city.]

[signifies]

[ Clark unsuccessfully suppresses a smile. He follows Bucky. ]

Being invulnerable and knowing how to fight aren't the same. Zod took advantage of me. He's not the only thing out there that'll want to hurt Earth.

[advanced]

So there are things out there that can hurt you?

[It's a careful question, he knows Clark can be a bit closed off when discussing his alien physiology and past. Not that he's one to talk.]

[signifies]

[ He is. Clark also knows now he can trust Bucky. ]

Yes, although I wouldn't know about them. I'm also sure the United States government, among others, is trying to find a weapon that can counter me.

[advanced]

Your cousin hasn't told you anything to watch out for?

[It's not that he's protective over his friends or anything, Steve could tell him all the times Bucky dove into an alleyway after him to help out.]

[signifies]

She's from an alternate universe. A different one from Jon. [ From Dick's experience, he knows not everything will go the same way. ] I know what they know. If there's anything else, I guess I'll find out.

[advanced]

[He shrugs, he supposes that makes sense given what he knows about alternate universes too.]

You know there's another me here?

[Maybe Clark does know, maybe he followed the sound of a metal arm once and ran into the other Bucky.]

[signifies]

[ Clark looks at him in surprise. ]

No, I didn't. I found out there's two of Captain Rogers, and someone else by the name of Dr. Strange.

[advanced]

[It's obviously not something he's particularly comfortable with.]

We're pretty different, different pasts, different presents. The only things we share are our name, the arm, and the Soldier. And even that's different in some ways.

[signifies]

Your arm doesn't sound the same either.

[ If it did, it would confuse Clark when he was searching for Bucky.

He can see Bucky's uncomfortable, and he'd rather not press this subject. He tries to keep it to a generic statement. ]

I don't know if I'll ever get used to the alternate universe stuff. You never really what's going to happen.

[advanced]

[That's interesting, but maybe not that surprising. The arm has a different design on it, it stands to reason that it might have been updated and modified by Stark when the other him joined the Avengers.]

Yeah, but they're better than the people from your own universe in the future.

[signifies]

Yeah.

[ He's been lucky with Jon. Clark's not sure about the others. ]

[advanced]

Have you been told about your future, too?

[At least it wouldn't just be him, if so.]

[signifies]

Something like that. My first week here, I met someone who knew a lot about me, and he said there were more. [ Dick had been very gentle about it. It hadn't taken Clark long to see why he was friends with the other Clark. ] I asked about the rest. There's a few things I had to know.

[advanced]

Like what?

[He might share himself in a minute. But despite being friends now, he still likes having the safety net of information gained before given.]

[signifies]

[ Clark knows to receive a hand, one has to extend it first. He's happy to share. ]

My worst enemy is a man named Lex Luthor, the CEO of LexCorp and subsidiaries. He just about owns Metropolis.
