[This is so awkward, small talk and teasing really isn't his strong suit. He's only trying because of what she's going through. Nobody understands how hard programming is to deal with like Bucky.]

Well, to be fair, we've all made... questionable costume choices.

[At least Steve never chose his own costume, it's just what he was given when he went into the propaganda train. And Bucky has never really had a costume.]

I wasn't running around Alaska in fishnets.

You really think this is actually Alaska?

It's certainly cold enough to be. Then again, we don't have solid proof either way, do we?

No, it's too cold to be Alaska. It's possible to survive a night out in Alaska if you know what you're doing.

[There's a brief hesitation, but both the people listening know enough that he continues.]

I've done it in Siberia more than once.

You're right. They trained us to survive in those conditions, too. We don't know what's happened to the world here, or the environment. Where do you think we are?

I don't know, but I don't think it's Alaska.

[Not unless something has severely altered the climate for the worse.]

Another mystery to add to the pile, I suppose.

[He hums an agreement, short and low, but there's not much to add to that.

This is where he would hang up again, and again he doesn't, but there is just an awkward sort of silence punctuated by the soft rasp of laboured breathing and the crunch of one set of feet walking relatively quickly through the snow.

Sorry, Nat, you might have to come up with conversation topics, he's struggling a lot with this whole small talk nonsense.]

It's fine. Cauterised and bandaged. I've got the prosthetic with me, do you think Tony will reattach it?

Yes, of course he will. We'll just need to figure out a better way to insulate it and protect your skin.

It's more important that I have both arms, I can work around the rest.

[He'll deal with frostbite earlier if it happens again.]

I'm not likely to get frostbite a second time, I was just unlucky. You're worrying too much.

You're more likely to get frostbite in that tissue now that you've had it once.

[He exhales a slightly irritated sigh, not wanting to argue this when he has a doctor literally strapped to his chest.]

Forget it, I'll discuss it with Tony.
