[That's good, it alleviates the initial knot of worry that something had been wrong.]

You can come to the house if you want, or we can meet near the edge of the forest?

[advanced]

I'll come to the house.

[He's still not keen on going into Quarantine, but he's been pushing himself and wants to prove to Clark that he's doing a bit better.

True to his word, it's only another twenty minutes or so before he shows up, knocking lightly.]

[signifies]

[ Clark knows it's him no matter how quietly Bucky walks. He only needs to knock once before the door swings open. Clark is smiling very boyishly. ]

Hey, come in. You're just in time, she's awake.

[ "She" turns out to be an animal with four wings, about the size of a cat, climbing on the couch. Annora screeches on seeing the stranger. ]

[He's really not sure what Clark will want to show him, but he never imagined it would be something like this.]

What-- in the hell is that?

[It looks like a weird bird cat hybrid thing.]

[signifies]

I have no idea. [ He shouldn't be so cheerful about it. ] Annora.

[ She jumps from the couch to Clark, nuzzling him. When she screeches at Bucky he can see rows of small pointy teeth, still growing. ]

I figure she's Kryptonian. They brought her here about a month ago.

[advanced]

What makes you think she's definitely Kryptonian? There's a lot of weird animals that have been brought here, I know a kid with a horse that's always on fire.

[Pokemon are weird, okay?]

[signifies]

The Guard delivered her, and the last item they brought me was definitely Kryptonian.

I mean, if she was just any other alien animal, why bring her to me?

[advanced]

I guess that makes sense.

[He leans against the wall and watches her leap about.]

Don't suppose they told you how big she's gonna get?

[signifies]

No idea about that either. At the rate she's growing, she'll be the size of a wolf by the end of the month.

[advanced]

That's still a size you can cope with, what if she gets as big as the house?

[He wouldn't be surprised, everything else Kryptonian seems incredible.]

[signifies]

[ Clark looks at him. ]

I don't know, I guess we'll see. Anyway, she's going to need space to fly around soon.

[advanced]

[He hums thoughtfully.]

What about keeping her at the camp you built out of town?

[signifies]

[ She's part of the family. It wouldn't feel right to have her so far away. ]

Only if she's too big for the backyard. I don't want to send her away.

[advanced]

[He finally holds out his hand towards her, making sure it's the metal one just in case she goes for a bite.]

Guess that makes sense, you know what she eats?

[signifies]

[ She is a biter. Annie jumps on Clark first, who stretches out his arms. She walks over his shoulders, then hops on Bucky's arm at his elbow, her claws sticking between the metal grooves. ]

She's a carnivore. I've been feeding her chicken.

[advanced]

[He tries to keep still while she's on him, not wanting to encourage her to actually rip through the metal. He doesn't know if she'd be able to; no earth creature should be able to get through vibranium alloy, but who knows with something from Krypton?]

I guess Jon has seen her, right? Does he know anything more about her?

[Considering he seems to know more about these things, having learned them from an older and more knowledgeable Clark.]

[signifies]

[ Annie climbs up to the shoulder and starts sniffing at him. ]

No, his dad hasn't told him much about it. He didn't recognise her.

[ Clark isn't resentful, but sometimes he does wish there was something his other self had told his son. He's so hungry for any knowledge of his home. ]

[advanced]

The guards didn't tell you anything about where she came from or what she was?

[He figures they have to have at least some information, considering they seem to know enough about the people they bring in.]

[signifies]

Just that she was for me.

[advanced]

Have you been back to ask them anything?

[He wouldn't want to keep a potentially dangerous creature like this with no extra knowledge.]

[signifies]

Yeah, I did, but all they could tell me was that she came out of the Portal.

[ Annora jumps back on Clark and starts chewing his hair. He brushes her away gently. ]

[advanced]

[At least Clark and Jon are both pretty hard to actually hurt.]

How about the library, or the school? Have you tried there?

[signifies]

Yeah, I have.

She's not dangerous. Honestly... I think she's some kind of cat.

[advanced]

I guess she is acting kind of cat like.

[He's not convinced.]

Do you think she belongs to a you from the future, or another world?
