If I wished for another gun, could I store it at your place? Sherlock said I can have one for hunting, but he doesn't want it in the house. I can split anything I catch with you for the trouble. I can do the butchering, as well, if you'd like.
[Isn't he the best at letter writing? Hopefully John remembers who he sent a letter to, or he might be confused by the single word letter delivered to him in lovely cursive handwriting.]
I asked Zephyr about the stars, as we discussed previously. They said, and I quote: [ Here he copies down Zephyr's response, exactly as they wrote it, handwriting (and smiley face) and all. As it turns out, Ienzo's pretty deft at forgery. ]
For the stars, I just threw them into the sky with a brush. Sort of. It's hard to explain? =:? It was sort of like with a brush, spattering everywhere.
I'll be posting this information publicly on the board in due time, but I did promise I would tell you when I received an answer.
[That's a little disappointing, he had hoped there might be a rhyme or reason to the positioning of the stars, but he can see why a kid might just flick paint at a blank canvas and go with that.
It kind of reminds him of Steve in art class back when they were in elementary school.]
Thanks for the update. Doesn't seem like there's any useful information to be learned from their placement, then.

[He's not expecting a letter from Izzekiel, but it gives him the grim satisfaction of knowing that his wish must have worked to receive it. Rather than send a letter in response, he goes to find Izzekiel in person.]
You should have told me that you could get inside my head.
There's a knock on the door. A tall gentleman with a prim suit and an umbrella is standing outside, along with a rather pissed-off looking bird standing next to him. It wasn't so hard to deduce this James Barnes' location, but it had been tedious with Bacall lecturing him the whole way here.
Lucky for Mycroft, this is one of the few times that Bucky is actually in his house. He's been looking over the medals that came with his uniform as if they might spark any new memories, but he shoves them all back in the box and out of sight when the door knocks.
He's expecting it to be John, perhaps Renart, nobody else comes to call on him. So imagine his surprise when he opens the door to find himself face to face with a stranger that has a vulture by his side. His expression is blank, unwelcoming, and his body blocks the doorway.
[Regardless of whether or not Bucky is staying there, a package will appear for him outside of his home on Cream Puff Way. Inside are a couple pairs of hand knit mittens, and a soft scarf.
He's seen this name and that writing on the bulletin board before, but they've never interacted, so why would he be receiving a gift? It must be a mistake, since there's no name on the label.
Which is why it appears back at Xanthous' house with a return note.]
Xanthous,
I think you delivered these to me by mistake, I'm returning them so that they can go to the proper recipient.
[Bucky gets a drawing in his mailbox on the night of Christmas Eve. It's a drawing of him looking at something disapprovingly with crossed arms. Although the few lavender feathers floating by might hint at the incident referenced here. As well as the Pidgey perched on his shoulder mimicking the move despite the supposed impossibility of doing so with wings. Eliza has signed it and written "Merry Christmas!" as well.]
[Bucky's home is the last stop on her list, since she's intending to do what he did and deliver the gift in person. It's a small thing wrapped in brown paper, and she's holding it carefully as she approaches his home. She'll knock on the door, at the same time looking around in case he's up in a tree or something.]
[He'd been trying to sleep in his own home for once, though it hadn't been going well, so it doesn't take long for him to answer the door. In a mirror of his own delivery to her, this time it's him that is in a state of undress. He's just wearing some loose sweatpants and nothing else, metal arm and scarred chest on display for once.]
[Renart has very pointedly been avoiding Bucky after she learned what Monty did. She blames herself for what happened, feels added guilt for not handling the situation better, and she doesn't want to make him a target a second time, so this just... is safer.
Eventually though, the urge to say something to him wins out, and she'll leave him a short letter in his mailbox late one night.]
I'm sorry about what happened. I understand if you want to keep your distance.
He reads the note a few times but it says the same thing every time he reads it, and that doesn't make sense. Why would she feel like she had to apologise for what Monty did? He's just sorry that she had to get caught in the crossfire.
He doesn't bother to pen a return note, he just heads over to her house and knocks on the door. At least he doesn't have to worry that Monty will answer now.]
[After being rejected by Renart, Monty gives himself a few days to let his pride recover well enough to write to Bucky with a level head.]
Mr. Barnes,
I must apologize for my actions against you in Recuerdo. They were selfish and only inflicted harm upon one I care most about, as well as yourself. You did not deserve such a fate. I hope you are in good health. I will not trouble you in future.
[He reads the letter with total disbelief. He's seen how Monty reacted, not the slightest sliver of guilt or regret, so he doesn't believe this apology is worth the paper it's written on.]
[After a heart-to-heart with Renart that's left him feeling even more confused and pained than before, Monty heads to Bucky's house. He doesn't actually have any idea when the man might be home or not. He'll come back periodically over the next few days if Bucky doesn't answer the first time, knocking on the door and waiting for several minutes for a response.]
[Bucky hasn't been home a whole lot, just in case he ends up running into Renart attempting to apologise again, so it will take a few days for Monty to get a response. Aside from being dressed in jeans and a hoodie instead of tactical gear, Bucky looks very like his Soldier shadow counterpart when he sees it's Monty, levelling the same sort of unimpressed stare in his direction.]
[Bucky, despite not getting her anything, has still made it onto Harley's Christmas card list with much of the Meadous. He receives a homemade card on December 25th from her. The front has a stick figure doodle of a man with one arm, hobo hair, and red boxers standing next to a Christmas tree. The inside reads "Thanks again for the help! Merry Christmas! - HQ"]
